Inspirational Stories for Teachers

About this collection

Stories for teachers, about teachers and from people who never forgot one. Read one to open a staff meeting, tuck one into a thank-you card, or save one for the Sunday night before a long week.

The Best Teacher Ever is the classic story of Mrs. Thompson and the struggling boy whose school records changed how she saw him. God Created the Teacher describes what it takes to stand in front of 35 kids on a rainy Monday, and in Lists of Nice Things a teacher’s simple classroom exercise turns up years later in a place she never expected. The Difference a Teacher Can Make follows a young teacher who wouldn’t give up on a failing seventh grader, and The Whisper Test is a grown woman’s memory of the few whispered words that changed her life in second grade.

For a lighter moment there’s Kids Are Quick, a page of classroom comebacks. You’ll find more in our teachers and school section, and funny devotions for a faculty devotional in Short Funny Devotional Stories.
