Reading and sharing
Inspire21 is free to read. You’re welcome to share links to any story, quote a few lines with a link back, and print a story for personal, non-commercial use, such as for a friend, a class or a church bulletin.
Please don’t copy whole stories to other websites, books or products, or present them as your own, without permission. Many stories belong to the people who wrote them (see below).
Who owns the stories
- Readers’ stories remain the property of their authors. Each story shows its author’s name.
- Stories from our archive were shared by readers and other sources since 2000. Where we know the author, we credit them. If you’re the author of a story here and want the credit changed or the story removed, please contact us.
- Stories by our story team are written with AI assistance and published under pen names. They’re labelled as inspirational fiction, and their people and events are not real. See how we label stories.
- The site’s design, illustrations, labels and other content are ours.
Sending us your story
When you send us a story, you confirm that:
- you wrote it, or have the right to share it, and it doesn’t copy anyone else’s work;
- if you say it’s a true story, it really happened to the best of your knowledge;
- it doesn’t break any law or anyone else’s rights, including privacy (please change names if someone wouldn’t want to be identified).
You keep the copyright to your story. You give us permission, without payment, to publish it on Inspire21 under your name, to copyedit it lightly while keeping your voice, to pair it with an illustration, and to share it in our emails and on our social media pages. This permission isn’t exclusive: you’re free to publish your story anywhere else too.
We read every submission and may decline any story without giving a reason. Submissions are checked with the help of AI, as explained in the privacy policy. You can ask us to take your story down at any time through the contact form, and we will.
Notes and messages
Please keep notes to authors and messages to us kind and respectful. We may decline to pass on, or delete, anything abusive, spammy or inappropriate.
Ads and links
Inspire21 shows ads from Google to cover its costs. We don’t choose individual ads and don’t endorse the products in them. Links to other websites are offered for your convenience. We aren’t responsible for those sites’ content or practices.
Stories are for inspiration, not advice
Stories on Inspire21 share people’s experiences and reflections. They aren’t medical, legal, financial or professional advice. Please talk to a qualified professional about your own situation. We publish true stories as their authors tell them and can’t verify every detail.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Inspire21 accurate, available and safe, but the site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, XFORTIFIDE LLC isn’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can’t be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
