We were rich in ways that might not be seen as prominent and affluent in another view; Our families’ investment reports were definitely not shown in Dow Jones’ Financial News. Yet, CHS teachers and friends infused strength into lives, with confidence we measured; Shared classes, football games, basketball tournaments, swim meets were all treasured. The passage of time proved there really was no better place, at that time, for us to be, Then with CHS friends, talking excitedly about our fantastic futures, unknown mysteries. Later, School Integration, a dynamic catalyst, embraced differences, validated all dignity. We were a diverse group, new friends who competed in Sports, studied Art, Science, History. Back then, walking through the halls, celebrating other friends of varied cultures and choices, Hearts and minds were opening with friendships, validating all people as worthy voices. We valued what we had, counted blessings, content with life; the rest was no surreal. Special moments of lasting friendships were only what counted, strong, loyal, and real. Central Friends represented their cultures’ diverse traditions, respected, legendary, true; In sharing our hearts and adventures with buddies diverse, we enriched our own lives anew. There’s exhilaration present, because we’ll always have those treasured memories in store, As pictures are renewed, our minds burn back in time to show a bright treasured encore. Celebrating diversity enriches each Cardinal’s future, while honoring legacies of the past; Cultural contributions expand horizons, ignite futures, blaze CHS accomplishments that last!
