When Lives Touch

Poem1 min read

We’ve all been given magnificent gifts to polish to perfection in our lifetime, Work until “good becomes better and better becomes best” was the rhyme. We persevered and we were successful; all missions completed and done! Yesterdays were radical, productive, fun; now, our unscheduled leisure is won!

And yet, senior citizens raise the goalpost with their caring outreach. They run errands, transport patients, deliver meds, file tax returns, teach! We’re still able to make a cheery call, encourage a friend, Be there to lessen grief with a touch that heals, stay to the end.

It may seem too long, too far, too difficult to do; but rest assured we will stand Helping those who appear before us, because they need a helping hand. Our bearing will be strong as we hug with hope, foster faith, follow our quest; When lives touch, performing acts of kindness shows our dedicated best!
