Teacher’s Prayer

I want to teach my students how To live this life on Earth.
To face it's struggles and it's strife
And to improve their worth.
Not just the lesson in a book
Or how the rivers flow, But how to choose the proper path
Wherever they may go.
To understand eternal truth
And know the right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of
A flower and a song.
For if I help the world to grow
In wisdom and in grace,
Then I shall feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.
And so I ask your guidance, God,
That I may do my part.
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.

What Teachers Make

teacher helping students in class

By Taylor MaliÔÇ¿

He says the problem with teachers is, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?" He reminds the other dinner guests that it's true what they say about teachers:
Those who can, do; those who can't, teach.

I decide to bite my tongue instead of his and resist the temptation to remind the other dinner guests that it's also true what they say about lawyers.

Because we're eating, after all, and this is polite company.

"I mean, you're a teacher, Taylor," he says. "Be honest. What do you make?"

As you travel along

road with sunset

-- By John Willis

As you travel along in your daily toil
Keep love in your heart - in your eyes a smile.
Give a word of cheer to those who are blue;
A warm handclasp will help some, too;
A wave of the hand, a cheery "Good Day"
To those you may meet or pass by the way...
As you travel along.

Start in the day with a word of prayer,
As the birds trill notes to the morning air.
Let your prayer be to God, like their songs to Heaven,
Thankful for life and the blessings given;

Home Is Where The Heart Is

-- By Al Albrecht, Home Spun Poems

Home is where the heart is, where love should be all the time,
Respect and kindness, and peace and joy, that you can say are mine.
It's where in times of illness, concern comes from the heart,
And little acts of goodness, will always be a part.

Home is where there's hope and joy, and laughter does abound.
No matter when, or where, or how, that's where it's always found.
Don't ever let the blues come in, just pray them out the door,

And They Crucified Him

Christ and 2 others crucified

-- Author Unknown

A medical doctor provides a physical description:

The cross is placed on the ground and the exhausted man is quickly thrown backwards with his shoulders against the wood. The legionnaire feels for the depression at the front of the wrist. He drives a heavy, square wrought-iron nail through the wrist deep into the wood. Quickly he moves to the other side and repeats the action, being careful not to pull the arms too tightly, but to allow some flex and movement. The cross is then lifted into place. The left foot is pressed backward against the right foot, and with both feet extended, toes down, a nail is driven through the arch of each, leaving the knees flexed. The victim is now crucified.

The Pretty One

Cocker Spaniel Pups

By Roger Dean Kiser

This was the last litter of puppies we were going to allow our Cocker Spaniel to have. It had been a very long night for me. Precious, our only black cocker, was having a very difficult time with the delivery of her puppies.

I laid on the floor beside her large four-foot square cage, watching her every movement. Watching and waiting just in case we had to rush her to the veterinarian.
